Here Comes the Scrappy Sun

The Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for June is yellow.  Thank goodness for some sunshiny yellow scrappiness this week, as our weather has been rainy and dismal!

I started with my smallest scraps from the 1 1/2 inch scrap bin.

These blocks are fun to play with, but at only 7 inches in size, it will take some time to accumulate enough of them for any type of project!

I also made some yellow selvage blocks.

There are still lots of yellow scraps in the bins, so I'll keep working on scrappy projects.  And for more scrappy inspiration, check out the RSC weekly link-up at Angela's blog!

  1. Your sunshine block is so cheerful and bright. I really like your strip blocks, especially the circle prints, which tie it all together.

  6. Little bits of fabric take a long time to add up, but they make such fun quilts! This one will be a beauty -- someday.

  10. Chicks and dots and stars and flowers - so many lovely yellow scraps. I will have to start saving the selvages. Those blocks have so much interest.

  11. I see a selvage of some yellow scrap I have...Sunflower Fiesta!
I like PS quilts but you are right...takes a long time to make a quilt when you are just using scraps. I like the blocks you are making. I'm not going to even go there...you already inspired me to make hexies.

  13. I agree that yellow was the most delightful color to work with this month. We, too, have had a lot of rain and cloudy skies.

  14. You have definitely let the sun shine in. I'm amazed at how many wonderful yellows you have. My yellow collection is pretty small and tends to be on the darker side. Your stash was perfect for this month.
