I'm working on one of last year's Rainbow Scrap projects this month - trying to get my 2014 Rainbow Scrap Sampler blocks assembled.
I've barely made a dent in the assembly process! I have 90 RSC sampler blocks, which will be assembled in rows of 9 x 10. The sashing is 2" strips, which will finish at 1.5". I can already see I don't have enough of the current white on white sashing fabric, so I'll be mixing in a similar white on white. It's a scrappy quilt, so who says the sashing has to "match"?!
It has been fun re-visiting last year's RSC Sampler blocks - there was plenty of color and piecing challenge! The Rainbow Scrappers continue to have fun and the results can be see at today's link-up.
What a gorgeous quilt this is becoming! Love it!
ReplyDeleteSashing is slow and tedious, but wow does it help everything fit and look great together. Wonderful progress so far. It will be a quilt before you know it.
ReplyDeleteWow. Those look great and right on about the scrappy sashing.
ReplyDeleteIt is looking awesome
ReplyDeleteIn my book, if it's white on white, it matches! :P
ReplyDeleteI think mixing he white on white is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteYup! I don't know how often I started sashing and ended up having to make it scrappy too. It all works in a scrappy quilt. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLooking good!
ReplyDeletegood job on all those tiny pieces! I think that would drive me over the edge, although it's a very pretty quilt!
ReplyDeleteThat's one of the beauties of scrap quilts, not having all the prints match. Your sashing will be more interesting with a variety of white prints. :- )
ReplyDeleteYour sampler is looking wonderful Angie. Running out of fabric is my perennial problem. It shouldn't matter one way or another with your sampler though.
ReplyDeletethese look great - wow 90 blocks!
ReplyDeleteIt will be a beauty when done. Scrappy sashing sounds perfect. I have a lot of sashing in my future this year on the UFO front. I like making the blocks... but then jump to other projects before finishing!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeletethe mix of color and line is gorgeous. Of course it will be not only okay but better for mixing whites! LeeAnna
